House to Move Continuing Resolution

With an eye on the end of the federal fiscal year just a week from today, the House of Representatives plans to consider a Continuing Resolution tomorrow, extending government's financing and activities at this year's levels. Democrats hope the President will agree to an extension through March '09. Only the House-passed Defense, Military Construction-VA and Homeland Security fy'09 appropriations may be tacked on as well as low-income heating assistance, auto manufacturers' loan guarantees, national disaster relief and/or other miscellaneous bills.
